(Las Vegas, NV) — Rain, lightning and even hail hit the Vegas Valley yesterday. The National Weather Service says the official rainfall reached nearly a half-inch at McCarran Airport, breaking the old September 13th record of a trace of rain, set back in 1937 and tied three times since. Yesterday’s high was 78 degrees, a record low for the day. The old record was 83 degrees, set back on September 13th, 1966. It was also the first day in Vegas since May 29th, when the official high was below 80 degrees.
