(Las Vegas, NV) — Nevada’s Second Congressional District remains in Republican hands. Former state senator Mark Amodei easily won yesterday’s special election with nearly 60% of the vote, compared to under 40% for Democrat Kate Marshall. Amodei will replace Dean Heller, who was appointed U.S. Senator when John Ensign resigned earlier this year. The Second District, which is largely Republican, covers most of Nevada. Amodei will have to run for re-election in 2012.
