(Las Vegas, NV) — Backers of a proposed stadium at UNLV are working on a plan to pay for the project without raising property taxes. The “Las Vegas Sun” says the project’s public and private backers are eliminating the stadium’s planned dome, and will build a retail center and additional student housing near the Thomas and Mack Center. Plans to fund the two-billion-dollar stadium are also being revised. Earlier this year, the Legislature turned down a special tax to pay for the facility.
