(Las Vegas, NV)  Firefighters across the valley remember the events of 9-11 and pay their respects to comrades lost on that tragic day. Special ceremonies were held at Las Vegas Fire Station 5, where bells are tolled across the department signaling the loss of a member of the fire service. A small piece of the World Trade Center is enshrined in a wall at the firehouse and every year on this date a flag that once flew over the World Trade Center is raised then lowered to half staff.  County Firefighters also observe the day at mid-morning sirens sound for fifteen seconds all to remember the firefighters who lost their lives on that fateful day.
