(Las Vegas, NV) — University Medical Center’s balance sheet is still in the red. The county-owned hospital has posted a nearly $88-million loss for the just-ended fiscal year. That’s nearly 3% higher than a year earlier. It’s the tenth straight year of losses for UMC. The hospital is suffering from more uninsured patients in a bad economy, and a loss of business to new hospitals in the Vegas Valley.
