A new semester begins today at UNLV.  About 28-thousand students are expected to take classes, paying higher tuition and dealing with the fallout from years of budget cuts.  This school year, there will be fewer programs and a cut in the number of faculty and staff.  UNLV officials hope this will be the end of major funding cuts, and they plan to focus on the quality of education.
