Despite budget cuts, UNLV is gearing up for a new school year. At yesterday’s faculty senate meeting, University President Neal Smatresk said UNLV has shed 700 jobs and cut over 70-million dollars from its budget since 2007. But he says the worst may be over. Smatresk expects flat enrollment, which has been around 28-thousand students over the past several years. UNLV’s fall semester starts on Monday.
