The new school year begins on Monday, and authorities are urging drivers to use caution around school zones. Police say the first few weeks of class means congestion around valley schools, and they urge motorists to heed the crossing guards and flashing lights. If you’re caught speeding in a school zone, the normal fine doubles. And you can expect additional police to be watching around local schools starting next week.
