City Attorney’s Job Discussed Amid DUI Charge
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Councilmembers are meeting to discuss the fate of Henderson city attorney Elizabeth Quillin’s job as she faces misdemeanor drunken driving charges.
The special city council meeting set for 4:30 p.m. Monday begins with a closed session discussion about Quillin’s alleged misconduct, followed by public discussion and possible action on Quillin’s job.
Quillin pleaded not guilty in June to charges of DUI, leaving the scene of a crash and open container of alcohol in a May 23 crash on a residential street not far from the Green Valley Ranch
Resort, Spa & Casino.
Witnesses told Henderson police Quillin crashed her Lexus, tried to drive away, crashed again and tried to walk away.
A prosecutor says her blood-alcohol content was more than three times the .08 percent limit for Nevada drivers.
