(North Las Vegas, NV)  — Some North Las Vegas fire trucks are staying in the garage to save money.  The “Las Vegas Sun” says three vehicles were kept out of service Monday as part of a practice known as brownouts.  Firefighters assigned to the idle truck fill
in for absent workers at other city fire stations, allowing the city to avoid paying overtime.  North Las Vegas is facing a budget deficit and officials are trying to head off a possible takeover by state tax officials.
