(Las Vegas, NV) — Coroner’s inquests in Clark County will resume, despite a lawsuit in one case. Commissioners yesterday ordered the coroner’s office to move forward with other officer-involved shooting inquests. At issue is a new rule allowing an ombudsman to represent the shooting victim’s family and question witnesses during the hearing. That provision led the union representing police officers to file a lawsuit, putting one inquest on hold. At least 14 others have not yet been scheduled.
