(Washington, DC)  —  A blue-ribbon commission appointed by President Obama will recommend a site other than Yucca Mountain for storing nuclear waste.  The “Washington Post” says the panel will announce its findings today, and New Mexico may be suggested as an alternative for storing waste from nuclear power plants.  The commission was created to find an alternative to the Yucca Mountain site northwest of Las Vegas, which is being shut down.
