Burning Man Sells Out; First Time in 25 Years
BLACK ROCK DESERT, NV (AP) - It’s a big bummer for “Burners” who don’t have their tickets.
Burning Man organizers say the eight-day counter-culture festival in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert has sold out for the first time in its 25-year history.
Spokeswoman Marian Goodell says ticket sales were cut off on Monday as they approached the 50,000 limit set by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.
The festival’s Web site says tickets will not be sold at any of the walk-in outlets or at the gate when the festival opens Aug. 29 about 100 miles north of Reno.
It says if you don’t have a ticket don’t show up because you won’t get in. It also says anyone who purchases a ticket from a third party does so at their own risk.
