(Las Vegas, NV) — The race for Las Vegas mayor was the most expensive in the city’s history. The “Review-Journal” says the six
main candidates shelled out a total of $5.4 million during the campaign. Republican businessman Victor Chaltiel topped the list at about $1.7 million. That’s slightly more than Carolyn Goodman, who won last month’s general election. Her runoff opponent, Chris Giunchigliani, took in about $1.2 million. Primary opponents Larry Brown, Steve Ross and George Harris together spent nearly $900,000 to become mayor.
