On the heels of news that the unemployment rate has jumped to nearly 14% in Las Vegas, some encouragement for local job-seekers this week. Both Hash House A Go Go and H&R Block are holding job fairs this week in Las Vegas. Hash House A Go Go is looking to fill about 85 positions at its newest location, opening in September at the renovated Plaza Hotel in downtown Las Vegas. The restaurant is hiring nearly all positions, including cooks, cashiers, bussers, and wait staff. The job fair began last week and continues this Tuesday-Friday, July 26-29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at the Hash House A Go Go location on 6800 West Sahara. Applicants should come with resumes ready to be interviewed.

H&R Block is holding job fairs at two of its Las Vegas locations this week, seeking to fill about 300 positions. Openings include manager, tax preparers, and customer service representatives. The job fairs are Tuesday July 26th at the H&R Block on North Jones, from 9 a.m-2 p.m., and on Thursday July 28th at the H&R Block on Windmill Lane from 1 p.m.-6 p.m. Applicants should come with resumes ready to be interviewed, and bilingual applicants are specifically encouraged.
