(Carson City, NV)  – Brian Sandoval has become the nation’s first governor to get behind the wheel of a self-driving car.  Sandoval
took the modified Toyota Prius through Carson City yesterday, even sitting in the driver’s seat as it went on the freeway.

Special technology allows the car to sense crosswalks and maintain legal speeds without a driver’s input.  The car is being developed by Google, and Sandoval hopes Nevada will eventually play a role in making smart cars ten years from now.  The Silver State is the first in the nation to legalize driverless vehicles.
