LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 21-year-old man is dead and his assailant is being sought after what police are calling a gang-motivated shooting at an apartment complex in northwest Las Vegas.
Authorities say Charles Lamont Taylor Jr. of Las Vegas was with several other men about 8:30 p.m. Sunday outside an apartment building at Torrey Pines Drive near Lake Mead Boulevard when two other men approached.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that after a brief confrontation, one man pulled a handgun and shot Taylor.
Taylor was pronounced dead at University Medical Center.
A description of the gunman wasn’t immediately made public.
Police homicide and gang unit detectives were investigating.
