(Washington, DC) — A bill has been introduced in Congress to legalize Internet poker in the U.S. The “Review-Journal” says Nevada Congresswoman Shelley Berkley is one of the bill’s key sponsors. She says, “People are entitled to play poker from the privacy of their own homes.”
Under the measure, the Commerce Department would issue regulations and grant permission for states that want to issue online gaming licenses. Earlier this month, Governor Brian Sandoval signed a bill that would give Nevada regulators authority to adopt Internet poker regulations once Congress approves online gaming.
