LAS VEGAS (CBS) – The 29-year-old son of a Las Vegas judge entered a guilty plea for a heist last December that netted him $1.5 million in chips from the Bellagio casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
Anthony Carleo appeared Tuesday before a Nevada judge to accept the plea deal and plead guilty to reduced charges.
As part of the agreement, Carleo is expected to plead guilty in a separate robbery last December at the Suncoast casino in northwest Las Vegas. That was five days before the Bellagio heist.
Carleo is the son of Las Vegas Municipal Judge George Assad. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Carleo could face three to 54 years in prison for the two cases.
The judge set sentencing for Aug. 23.
