Judge to Decide Costco Shooting Case

(Las Vegas, NV)  —  A federal judge is expected to decide whether Clark County and Sheriff Doug Gillespie should be named in a wrongful death lawsuit.  The suit was filed by the family of Erik Scott, who was shot and killed by three Metro Police officers outside a Summerlin Costco store last July.

Although a coroner’s inquest jury found the shooting was justified, Scott’s family accused the officers of using “excessive and lethal force.”  Judge Edward Reed Jr. says he’ll issue a written decision in a few days.
