Senate Passes Education Reform
(Carson City, NV) — One of Governor Brian Sandoval’s key proposals made it through the Democrat-controlled Senate last night. Lawmakers approved key education reform measures that would put teachers on probation if they receive two years of negative evaluations, and require school districts to consider factors other than seniority when laying off teachers.
The bills would also reform collective bargaining between union workers and local governments. Sandoval has said he would sign the bills if they are approved by the Assembly.
