Local Economy Picking Up

(Carson City, NV)  –  Car sales and improved business at bars and restaurants are helping Nevada’s bottom line.  The state Department of  Taxation says taxable sales in March rose 9.6% from a year ago, to more than $3.6 billion.

Clark County taxable sales also rose more than 9% from March 2010’s numbers.  Tax collections for the current fiscal year are running about three million dollars ahead of economic forecasts.
