Felony drug, conspiracy and gun charges have been filed against an ex-prosecutor who handled the Paris Hilton and Bruno Mars drug cases in Las Vegas.Former Deputy Clark County District Attorney David Schubert didn’t appear in court Thursday while his lawyer received a four-count criminal complaint. A Las Vegas judge set arraignment Oct. 13.

Defense attorney William Terry says Schubert will plead not guilty to the charges. They could get Schubert decades in prison.

The 47-year-old Schubert was arrested March 19 in a white BMW after police reported watching him buy $40 worth of rock cocaine in a neighborhood east of the Las Vegas Strip.

The gun charge stems from an unregistered firearm police found in Schubert’s car.

Schubert had been a top area drug prosecutor. He resigned April 1.
