(Carson City,NV)  —  Governor Brian Sandoval has vetoed a nearly three-billion dollar education spending bill approved by Democrats.  Sandoval claimed the measure, which contains about 700-million dollars more than he requested, had the “clear intention of casting opponents as somehow ‘anti-education’ while at the same time forcing a tax increase.”

Senate Majority Leader Steven Horsford accused Sandoval of turning his back on Nevada’s public schools.  Democrats don’t have enough votes to override the governor’s veto.
