(Las Vegas, NV) — The two candidates for Las Vegas mayor squared off in a televised debate last evening. Carolyn Goodman and Chris Giunchigliani discussed such topics as union negotiations, a sports arena for downtown Vegas and parking in the city’s arts district during the hour-long exchange on KLAS-TV.

Both candidates called for a downtown arena, but refused to have tax money pay for it. Giunchigliani also wants to keep binding arbitration for negotiations with city workers, while Goodman says elected officials should make the final decisions on pay and benefit dispute.

Early voting for the June 7th general election begins this Saturday.

Goodman repeatedly contradicted herself and showed a stunning lack of knowledge on local issues. electing her would stagnate Las Vegas until her term was over.
