Tourism Makes a Comeback
(Las Vegas, NV) — Las Vegas’ tourism industry continues to show signs of recovery, but officials warn rising gas prices could reverse the trend. The Convention and Visitors Authority says 3.4 million people came to Sin City in March, a nearly 6% jump from a year ago and the 13th straight month of gains.
Hotel room prices and occupancy rates are also up, along with convention attendance. But highway traffic from Southern California to Vegas fell in March, suggesting rising fuel prices may take a toll.
