(Washington, DC) — Senator John Ensign is wrapping up details before his official resignation. Ensign is keeping a low profile as he prepares to end a 16-year career as congressman and senator. He refused to answer a reporter’s questions, and was seen picking up credentials identifying himself as a former lawmaker.
Ensign’s resignation came last week, after two years of controversy over his admitted affair with the wife of a former top aide. He’s expected to officially step down this coming Tuesday.
Congressman Dean Heller will serve out Ensign’s term.
