LAS VEGAS — A home in northeast Las Vegas is surrounded, as police are trying to convince a man they believe is inside to come out.
Police are evacuating some homes in the area and put John F. Mendoza Elementary School on lock down as they investigate. Streets in the area are also blocked.
It’s still unclear what’s happening inside the house on Forsythe Drive near Sloan Lane and Sahara Avenue, but a number of officers have surrounded the house and are calling the man they believe is inside to come out.
According to police, the incident started Sunday afternoon when police got a domestic call from the house. When officers arrived, a man involved in that call was not there. During a follow-up investigation this morning, officers saw bullet holes in a vehicle parked outside and blood stains near the house.
Police believed a man inside may be armed and have requested a search warrant. Police have located the woman involved in the domestic situation and she is fine.
Metro still has not officially released a statement on what’s happening. An ambulance is on scene along with SWAT team members.
