President Obama will take his fight over the federal budget to Reno later this week. Obama’s town hall meeting on Thursday is part of a three-day swing that also includes Virginia and California. He’s expected to make the case for his plan to reduce the federal deficit by four-trillion-dollars over the next 12 years, in part by eliminating the Bush-era tax cuts for those making a quarter-million-dollars a year or more. Obama’s proposal is competing with a Republican-backed plan by Congressman Paul Ryan that would reduce spending by more than six-trillion-dollars by 2030.
