Metro Officer Fired

(Las Vegas, NV)  —  A Metro Police officer has been fired for his role in a car chase that ended in a man’s death.  The “Review-Journal” says Aron Carpenter was terminated from the force last month.  Carpenter is awaiting trial for reckless driving and vehicular manslaughter in the May 2010 car chase that ended in the death of 26-year-old Ivan Carrillo.

Another Metro officer, Andrew Charles Ubbens, pleaded no contest to failure to use due care and paid a 500-dollar fine.  Ubbens has returned to duty on a probationary trial period.
