McCarran Traffic Up, Southwest Down
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A new report shows that McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas had an increase in passenger traffic for the third straight month in March compared with a year earlier.
Airport data released Friday showed that almost 3.6 million travelers used the airport in March, up 2.2 percent from the nearly 3.5 million arriving and departing passengers in March 2010.
The figures showed March was the busiest month this year.
Of the airport’s major airlines, American, Delta and US Airways saw passenger growth in March, compared with a year earlier.
Southwest saw a slight 0.2 percent decrease in passenger traffic.
United handled 19 percent fewer passengers than in March 2010.
