(Las Vegas, NV) — A federal grant will help hold down class sizes in Clark County schools. Officials say the 19-million dollars will allow class sizes in grades six through 12 to expand by just two students instead of three this fall. The money will also help retain some teachers, and restore some performing arts and foreign language courses.

The school district still faces a shortfall of more than 400-million dollars next year, along with staff and program cutbacks.
