LAS VEGAS (AP) — Clark County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani and Las Vegas first lady Carolyn Goodman are facing off in the first debate of the Sin City mayoral election.
The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce has scheduled the debate on April 20 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas.
The debate will focus on job creation, economic development and fiscal management. It will be hosted by Nevada journalist Jon Ralston.
The first lady is married to Mayor Oscar Goodman. He has served as Las Vegas mayor since 1999. Term limits kept him from running for a fourth term.
The mayor’s wife and Giunchigliani are competing in the general election after besting 16 other candidates in the April 5 primary.
Carolyn Goodman won more than twice the votes of her rival.
