The candidates for Las Vegas mayor are making a final push for votes before tomorrow’s municipal election. There are 18 candidates, and the field will likely come down to two people who will face off in the June general election.
A recent “Review-Journal” poll has Carolyn Goodman, wife of outgoing Mayor Oscar Goodman, as the favorite. Other key candidates include county Commissioners Larry Brown and Chris Giuncchigliani, city Councilman Steve Ross, and businessman Victor Chaltiel.
As of Friday, 31,469 early votes had been cast. Larry Lomax, the Clark County Registrar of Voters is expecting an 18 to 20% turnout. The total number of votes could be 45,000 to 50,000 out of a population of 222,000.
