(Carson City, NV)  —  Several Las Vegas high school students have urged lawmakers to approve a state lottery.  The students spoke before a Senate committee yesterday, saying a lottery would generate at least 40-million-dollars a year for public education.

Nevada’s gaming industry has come out against a state lottery in the past.  Lawmakers must approve a resolution to amend the state constitution this year and again in 2013 before the issue goes to voters a year later.
