(Las Vegas, NV)  —  As many as 50 Clark County fire inspectors could lose their jobs due to budget cuts.  Administrators met with the employees yesterday and offered counseling for those who need it. 

Construction in the Vegas Valley has fallen, reducing the need for inspectors who enforce building codes.  Firefighters in the county would not be laid off.  County officials are working on a leaner budget for the new fiscal year that begins in July.
