(Carson City, NV)  —  Yesterday was the last day for lawmakers to introduce their own bills in the Legislature.  More than 200 bills were submitted, including one that would raise taxes on mining, alcohol and cigarettes.

Another would ban police officers from asking about a person’s immigration status, while a competing bill would do the opposite.  And one bill would require voters to show a picture ID at the polling location.  The new bills must be passed out of a committee by April 15th, or they will be dead this session.
