Tea party favorite Sharron Angle will step up her profile today, a week after announcing her plans to run for Congress again. The Reno Republican has scheduled an afternoon news conference at the Airport Plaza Hotel in Reno. Angle mostly stayed away from the media during her race last year against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who beat her by 6 percentage points. Last week, Angle told supporters she would pursue one of Nevada’s four U.S. House seats in 2012 in an effort to change the country’s direction. Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki, state GOP Chairman Mark Amodei and state Sen. Greg Brower also are eying the congressional seat being vacated by Dean Heller, who is running for the U.S. Senate.
