A new state museum at the Springs Preserve is ready for visitors, but its future depends on funding.  Peter Barton with the state Department of Cultural Affairs told lawmakers yesterday there’s no money in Governor Brian Sandoval’s proposed budget to open the 50-million-dollar museum on Valley View Boulevard. 

Barton says he’s working with Springs Preserve officials to share some of the operating costs and open the museum on a limited basis.
