There won’t be a Nevada State Fair this year due to budget cuts.  According to the fair’s Facebook page, the board of directors made what was called a “difficult” but “inevitable” decision Tuesday night, and canceled the event after 136 years.  Officials say they were unable to attract enough funds to put on the 2011 fair and overcome what they called an “enormous debt.”  Those who donated money for this year’s fair can get a refund if they ask for it, and the remainder of the donations will go toward debt, with the hope Nevada’s state fair will return “at some later date in the future.”
