GEORGE NOORY IN LAS VEGAS: Get tickets now -- be there June 9!

LAS VEGAS — Upwards of 200 high school students in the northwest staged a protest this afternoon at Chaparral High, saying they want their teachers to stay right where they are for the upcoming school year.

At least three schools in the Clark County School District, Chaparral and Mojave High Schools, as well as Hancock Elementary School,  will face major restructuring in the upcoming school year because they did not meet educational standards.

Meantime, CCSD Trustee Carolyn Edwards tells KXNT, the staffing changes are necessary to put a better team in place whose goal will be to raise student achievement.  She also stresses that no school district employee will lose their job.
