Trial in Hepatitis Outbreak Delayed

(Las Vegas, NV)  —  A judge yesterday delayed the trial of three people in connection with the valley’s hepatitis C outbreak.  District Judge Donald Mosley has continued the trial of Doctor Dipak Desai and two nurses until March 2012.

Defense attorney Michael Cristalli tells KXNT it will take a long time to go through thousands of documents provided by health officials.

Desai, who owned the clinic where seven people allegedly contracted hepatitis C in 2007, has been ruled incompetent to help his lawyers due to two strokes.  The two nurses were to have gone to trial this coming Monday.
