Transportation Bill Could Face Veto
(Carson City, NV) — A public works bill that passed the state Senate yesterday could face a veto. SB 192, which would divert money from the general fund for transportation projects in the Las Vegas and Reno areas, was approved on an eleven-to-ten vote.
It was three votes short of the number needed to override Governor Brian Sandoval’s expected veto.
Supporters say the measure would create jobs and better roads, but opponents say it would take away money for higher education.
