Metro’s Search and Rescue units were called out to rescue an injured hiker who had fallen in the area of Echo Canyon on Mount Charleston Friday afternoon.

Metro was informed of a hiker who had fallen and may have been suffering from a broken leg.  Metro’s Search and Rescue helicopter hovered over the hiker until ground crews made their way to the hiker.

Rescue workers were able to get to the hiker a short time later and got him to medical personnel, who where standing bye in the area.

The injured hiker was transported to University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
