A man who sat on Nevada’s death row for 30 years has been granted parole. Ronnie Milligan was granted a release by the state Parole Board. He must get a job, report to his parole officer, and stay away from alcohol and bars.
Milligan, who is now 60-years old, was sentenced to die for the 1980 slaying of a Las Vegas woman in rural western Nevada. He was apparently drunk at the time of the killing.
Last September, a judge overturned Milligan’s death penalty because of an error made during the trial and the penalty hearing.
