Nevada Runs Out Of Drug For Lethal Injections
Nevada has run out of one of the three drugs needed to execute a criminal. The “Reno Gazette-Journal” says Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto and eleven of her counterparts have asked the Justice Department to help find other sources of the drug. Sodium thiopental is one of the drugs approved for legal injections in Nevada. The newspaper says the state doesn’t have thiopental in stock, and the company that had manufactured the drug has ended production. Eighty-two inmates are currently on Nevada’s death row, but no executions have been scheduled for the near future.
