GEORGE NOORY IN LAS VEGAS: Get tickets now -- be there June 9!

Today is the last day for candidates to file in the upcoming Las Vegas municipal elections.  Clark County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani yesterday filed to run for the city’s mayor, joining a crowded field that so far has numbered 15 people.  They include Carolyn Goodman, the wife of current Mayor Oscar Goodman; County Commissioner Larry Brown and City Councilman Steve Ross.  Meanwhile, seven candidates have filed for the Ward Three city council race.  The latest to do so is former state Democratic Party chairwoman Adriana Martinez.  And two people will challenge incumbent Lois Tarkanian in Ward One.  The deadline to file for office in Las Vegas is 5 this afternoon.  The primary is April 5th, and the general election will be held June 7th.
