A security guard was shot and wounded yesterday morning at a bank just west of the Vegas Strip.
Metro Robbery Lieutenant Clint Nichols says it happened around 9 a.m. at the Wells Fargo Bank on Spring Mountain Road and Arville Street. Two suspects were involved. One pretended to be handicapped and approached the guard in a wheelchair. Nichols says the suspects fired several shots, striking the guard in the ankle. The guard was taken to an area hospital, but his injury was not life-threatening. Nichols says the suspects grabbed the guard’s money bag, but there was no money inside because the guard was going into the bank to pick up a deposit. The two suspects are described as Hispanic males in their mid-20s or early 30s. If you have any information that can help, call Metro or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
