Security experts complained — and Facebook listened.

The social networking site has disabled a feature that let users share their addresses and phone number with external websites and applications. Facebook says it will change the feature to make sure users share information only with those they want to share it with. Last week, an official with the security firm Sophos warned that rogue applications that post spam or collect cell phone numbers to make unwanted calls could gather users’ data through Facebook apps.
