Vegas Headliner Makes Music History
Cher has just a few remaining concerts at Caesars Palace, but is certainly ending her Las Vegas Strip run in superstar fashion. You may not have seen the movie “Burlesque,” but it has helped put her in the record books.
Billboard reports that Cher’s new single “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” from Burlesque has rocketed to No. 1 on the Dance & Club Play Songs chart.
Her Diane Warren-penned “Burlesque” tune “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me,” which picked up the Best Song award at Sunday’s Golden Globes, will top the Billboard Dance/Club Play Songs chart to be released today, giving Cher her first number one of the new decade.
The pop superstar scored her first U.S. chart-topper in 1965, when Sonny & Cher’s ” I Got You Babe” went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 countdown.
Her other number ones have included “Dark Lady,” “All I Ever Need Is You,” “If I Could Turn Back Time,” “Believe” and “Strong Enough.” Her first was “I Got You Babe,” which scored for Cher and then-husband Sonny Bono in 1965.
On her Twitter page, Cher wrote, quote, “Yessssss ! Am thrilled ! Diane (Warren) deserves it ! She wrote a GREAT song ! I sang it pretty good .”
